The remains of one of the WW2 Gliders used in the successful capturing of Pegasus Bridge. Outside a museum about 5 minutes walk from where it originally landed :]

I'm really enchanged by this piece. The photo is clear and because of however you worked magic with the light, all the edges of the glider are outlined very well. I love the light on the far side there coming through... it looks so still and old, like a massive iron skeleton of a war-beast now forgotten.

Glad you like it! And thanks for your insightful opinion on it :] It's one of the shots i'm most proud of.

Agreed about the lighting, it was a great day for photos, bright cloudless sky. As I remember this was outside a museum, inside it's own little enclosure/shed kind of thing, with large windows on the front and one side (and half the roof, i think), so the light poured in on the right.

And yeah, it was kind of sad to see something that was once so important, with so much history, to be left to rust like just any peice of scrap (though the enclosure was obviously there to prevent any further damage).

Well it may be rusting and left for scrap but at least this way it's going to be remembered? And as much as I would be terrified to forget the war in any way, maybe it's best that this poor leviathan is at least laid to rest.

Yeah, better than just throwing it away. There was a (relatively) newly built replica of the same glider about 20 metres away anyway, which was cool to see and look around in. They looked a lot sturdier than the American ones, haha. But they were probably a bit heavier too which wouldn't have helped.
