WW2: 'Dead Man's Corner'

In WW2 this was apparently the scene of a bit of a showdown between elite SS troops, and the equally infamous 101st Airborne, which crossed paths here (wikipedia says otherwise though, which confuses me).

You'd never guess - nowadays it's just a scenic road near the French coast. This was taken from the house on the corner, now a museum. The walls inside still had bulletholes here and there.
