An MG42 in a case in a museum. Sadly, due to the sun shining really brightly through the window in front, this is the only angle I could get where there wasn't ridiculous reflections all over the glass, but you get part of the case in the way of the shot which spoils it a little, sorry.
This is a really nice example of the weapon. The buttstock is one of the early ones, made out of Bakelite. It's probably not original to this weapon, as the 'MU' code on the receiver indicates that this gun was made in 1944, and the 'dfb' shows that it was made by Gustloff Werke, in Suhl.
